Formed at the beginning of 2014, KIVA play beautiful songs with a dark twist: their sweetly sung harmonies belie tales of betrayal, loss, and murder.

They write original material that draws on traditions as diverse as folk, blues, indie-rock, and classical music. Their songs twist and turn in unexpected directions yet always keep melody at their heart.

Centre-stage is the close-harmony singing of Annie Kingsbury and Helen Ploix. Liz van Stanten (ex-Moonrakers) goes crazy on violin, while Michael Amos and Tim Isherwood stay calm on acoustic guitars, lap-steel, bass, and ukulele.
